Privacy Policy

Call & SMS Master (“the app”), published by ByteMaple (“we”, “us”), is a call and SMS manager that works on your device. This policy explains what information the app handles.

1. Information the app collects

The app reads your call log, text messages, and contacts only on your device, to provide its features: call and SMS lists, the caller popup showing your history with a caller, smart SMS categories, OTP cleanup, expense summaries parsed on-device from bank and UPI messages, contact insights, and spam scoring against your own blocklist. No server operated by us receives your call log, messages, or contacts. No account or sign-in is required. The app sends an SMS only when you use a feature that asks it to (quick replies, scheduled messages, or a missed-call auto-reply you have switched on). If you set the app as your default phone app or caller ID & spam app, those functions also run entirely on your device through Android's telecom framework.

2. Advertising

The app displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain device information to provide and measure ads, such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, and coarse device/app information. This collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can reset or opt out of personalized ads in your Android device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).

3. Permissions used

• Call log — to show your call history, the caller popup's history, and contact insights.
• SMS (read, receive, send) — to show and organise your inbox, detect OTP and bank messages, and to send messages only through features you trigger, such as quick replies, scheduled SMS, and missed-call auto-reply.
• Contacts — to show caller names and per-contact insights.
• Phone state — to detect incoming and outgoing calls so the popup and after-call actions can appear.
• Display over other apps — to show the caller popup over the call screen, only if you grant it.
• Notifications — for after-call actions, callback reminders, and the daily summary.
• Exact alarms / Schedule alarms — to send scheduled SMS and fire callback reminders at the right time.
• Camera — used only for flash alerts (blinking the camera flash when a call comes in). The app does not take photos or record video.
• Internet / Network state — used only to load ads via AdMob.
• Run at startup — to restore your schedules and reminders after the phone restarts.

Permissions are used only for the features described and never to send your personal data to us.

4. Data security & retention

Your call log, messages, and contacts stay on your device, so there is no server-side retention by us. Uninstalling the app removes its stored data. Backup and report files are created only when you choose, are saved wherever you choose to store them, and remain under your control — you can delete them at any time.

5. Children's privacy

The app is a general-purpose communication utility not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's data.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
