Privacy Policy
ZapShare · Last updated 7 October 2026
ZapShare ("the app") shares files directly between nearby devices over Wi-Fi Direct / hotspot. This policy explains what information the app handles.
1. Information the app collects
The app itself does not collect, upload, or store any personal information on external servers. Files you send go directly device-to-device and never pass through our servers or the cloud. Transfer history is stored only on your device. No account or sign-in is required.
2. Advertising
The app displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain device information to provide and measure ads, such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, and coarse device/app information. This collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can reset or opt out of personalized ads in your Android device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).
3. Permissions used
- Location (approximate/nearby devices) — required by Android to scan for nearby Wi-Fi Direct devices. Your location is never recorded or transmitted.
- Wi-Fi / network state — to create and manage direct device connections.
- Storage / media access — to read the files you choose to send and save files you receive.
- Camera — only to scan QR codes for quick device pairing.
- Notifications — to show transfer progress.
Permissions are used only for the features described and never for data collection.
4. Data security & retention
Because transfers are peer-to-peer and history stays on your device, there is no server-side retention of your files or activity.
5. Children's privacy
The app is a general-purpose utility not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's data.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
